The stone throne (Obu-Gad), erected by Eri in remembrance of his father Gad (Genesis 46:16), is the seat of the ancient Eri Kingdom. Located at the Obu Gad palace, it has long held a theocratic and religious sway over all of Igboland and beyond. The Igbo people are ancient in their origin and are widely known as 'Ndigbo' - the ancients.
